I like to collaborate with all types of creative people and I've found myself on various film sets as a result. More recently I did some concept and prop design art for a couple of student films.

I did these pieces of concept art for a film that’s coming out later this year. It’s a period sci-fi drama about a baby alien landing on earth in ye olde days in a meteorite. I also helped eventually make the meteor and the alien tail for the film.

In the end, we didn’t make the full baby just the tail and swaddle it in cloth to look like a baby. The tail was made out of a shower pipe I painted with pink and purple veins and then we wrapped fairy lights around it and built the shape using transparent silicone. As for the meteor, sadly they didn’t go with my idea of making the meteor rainbow so they settled for painting it black and rubbing metallic silver spray paint around the grooves. The meteor was made of chicken wire and mod-rock. Thanks to Lizzie Matthews for giving the opportunity to help on this film, the cast and crew look like they did an awesome job on set. I've been a runner, camera assistant, prop designer and concept artist on many shoots now. Since I'm normally a last minute helper I don't know too much about the films I've worked on, for example I did an all nighter making this infinity mirror for a film I don't even know the name of. I really like being part of these quick, often incredibly random projects and because of it I have experience working with a variety of materials.

I've got experience working with wood and power tools, I've helped 3D print accessories and props and creating things with silicone moulds and resin. All this has fed into my creative practise and has geared me towards doing more sculpture work.
I hope to continue being part of these crazy projects and then using the skills I've picked up to create weird and wacky things in my own practise.

One of the most notable projects I was apart of was I got to go on a trip to Hanoi to film a promotional video for a travel company called See You at Lilys. Free accommodation and I got to go on all the tours the hostel had to offer. It was one of the craziest two weeks of my life and I loved it. I got to explore Hanoi, climb part of a mountain and stay with some locals, also party on a boat. It was brilliant and it was also really cool to be filming out there. Because of it I have experience working with the cameras A7s and a C500. This was filmed a couple of years ago but it’s still being used as the official advertisement for See You at Lilys Travel Agency.

For the last two summers, I helped two of my tutors run the social media accounts for an event they run at Latitude Festival. The Big Screen and Film Gallery is a large screen they’ve set up in the forest section of Latitude. As part of setting up the social media for them, they also let me and my girlfriend go to the festival to live blog the whole thing. We made a short film to document the experience. The festival was amazing and it was a really cool event to be part of. Even when all the other stages had closed the Big Screen was still going and Saturday and Sunday it got really popular. The first year the overall theme this year was Punk, to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the movement. So we made a short film to advertise it.

I've been the social media manager for a few different events now and the Big Screen is one example of that. Need a social media manager? Feel free to contact me as more often than not I'm willing to work for free if it's a cool event and I get free access.
